Our verdict: shortlist it when faucet freedom matters.
The strongest reason to consider the R01 is practical: you can fill its tank instead of connecting a supply hose to the faucet. That matters if swapping a tap attachment every time would turn an easier cleanup into another chore.
It is a more persuasive option for a modest daily dish load than for someone hoping to put every pot and pan from a large dinner into one machine. Start with your largest plate and your intended countertop spot.
What you gain—and what you still do
You gain an automatic wash cycle for the items that fit. You still remove large scraps, arrange the load, add dishwasher detergent, fill the tank when using that mode, and empty the machine afterward. The drain hose also needs a permitted discharge arrangement.
Think about the moments that currently make dish duty frustrating. If it is repeated washing of cups, bowls and plates, this type of machine may help. If it is oversized cookware or a lack of any spare counter surface, the trade may be less appealing.

The measurements worth checking
- Listed body: 18.1 inches high, 16.9 wide and 16.9 deep.
- Round plates: HAVA lists 10.2 inches upright or 10.6 angled. Angled loading can change the rest of the arrangement.
- Door open: the manufacturer lists 29.2 inches. Also allow for hoses, operating clearances and reaching the tank fill opening.
Understand the cycle, not just the headline
HAVA lists a 29-minute Speed wash for lightly soiled items, with a separate drying duration. That is not a promise that a heavy dinner load will be washed and dried in 29 minutes. Match the program to the load and check the exact model’s manual.
When I would choose the other option
If overhead height rules out the R01 and you can use a compatible faucet connection, investigate the Danby DDW631SDB comparison. Its body is shorter but substantially wider. Neither choice should be bought on appearance alone.

A useful purchase for the right daily load
Shortlist it: you want the supply tap free, have a permanent counter spot and mostly want help with everyday tableware.
Keep looking: the only opening is 18 inches high, or your main chore is oversized cookware.
Check one ordinary dinner before committing
Choose the plates, bowls and mugs you actually reach for, rather than the smallest pieces in the cupboard. Identify what would remain a handwashing job. You do not need every item to fit for the purchase to be useful—but the machine should take over the work you most want to stop doing.
The quoted upright and angled plate limits answer different questions. Tilting your largest plate may consume positions you expected to use for something else. Use the loading checklist to record shape as well as diameter.
