You do not need a second shopping cart full of accessories to make a countertop dishwasher useful. Start with your appliance’s included equipment, then solve the one or two gaps that would otherwise make cleanup awkward.
First, check the box—not the accessories aisle
HAVA lists a pitcher plus inlet and drain hoses with the R01. Danby’s DDW631SDB manual describes a supplied faucet adapter and quick-connect assembly. Check the exact package and your faucet before paying for duplicate pieces.
For Danby, the manual says to use the supplied hoses; longer hoses can affect performance. We therefore do not recommend a generic extension kit. Our faucet compatibility guide explains the connection questions to resolve before shopping.

Give the handwashed items a drying spot
A compact machine can take care of everyday tableware while a large pan, delicate item or oversized platter stays at the sink. Choose one drying option for that leftover job. If your existing rack works, keep it.
OXO Good Grips Large Silicone Drying Mat
The manufacturer lists a roughly 16.9 × 12.5-inch footprint, raised ribs and a flexible design that rolls or hangs for storage. That makes it worth considering when you want a drying area you can put away after unloading.
Choose it if: you have a spare counter patch during cleanup and prefer to keep the sink opening available.
Skip it if: you cannot spare that footprint. A mat still occupies counter space while the dishes are drying.
This is a drying surface for dishes, not a recommendation to place a dishwasher on top of it.
Surpahs 20.5 × 13.1-inch Roll-Up Dish Drying Rack
This warm-gray size is specified for a sink opening up to 19.5 inches. Its silicone-covered steel rods roll together for storage. Measure the span it will bridge and make sure both ends have a stable supporting edge.
Choose it if: counter space is scarce and you can spare part of the sink opening for handwashed items.
Skip it if: it would obstruct your dishwasher’s fill or drain routine, or the sink is too wide for secure support.
Check the selected size on Amazon. Other Surpahs sizes are different products. This rack is not an appliance stand.
Match detergent and rinse aid to the machine
There is no universal “mini pod required” rule. HAVA’s R01 listing accepts several dishwasher-detergent formats. Danby’s manual discourages tablets and gel packs and specifies liquid rinse aid. Follow the exact manual’s product type and amount; hand dishwashing liquid is not dishwasher detergent.
Finish Jet-Dry Dishwasher Rinse Aid, 23 fl oz
For a Danby DDW631SDB owner following its liquid-rinse-aid instructions, this is one product to consider. Finish describes Jet-Dry as a rinse aid intended to help drying and reduce spotting. It goes in the rinse-aid compartment and does not replace detergent.
Consider it if: your manual calls for liquid rinse aid and the dispenser needs filling.
Skip it if: your machine has no matching dispenser or its manual does not call for rinse aid. Do not pour it into a water tank or wash tub.

Your useful-extras checklist
- Check included parts. Match the listing and manual before buying a pitcher, connector or hose.
- Plan what stays out. Use the plate and loading guide to identify your remaining handwashing job.
- Choose a drying location. Measure a mat footprint or sink span. Keep the sink and hose route usable.
- Check the consumables. Buy only the detergent format and rinse aid your exact manual specifies.
- Review the actual offer. Confirm product, size, quantity, seller and return terms at Amazon before ordering.
What about a rolling cart?
That needs a separate check: a fully loaded appliance, water, an open door and hose movement all affect the setup. A nice-looking cart or an advertised shelf capacity alone does not establish that it is a suitable appliance platform. We have not verified a cart for these machines yet.
Get the dishwasher setup working first. Other compact appliances can be useful later, but they should earn their own counter space by solving a different daily problem.
